oran Proot is a book historian. He lectures on the history of graphic design, design theory, and typographic evolution at Sint Lucas Antwerp (Karel de Grote University College) and on analytical bibliography at the École nationale supérieure des sciences de l’information et des bibliothèques (Enssib).
He serves as the curator of the Cultura Fonds in Dilbeek. Previously, he worked as a curator at the University Library of Antwerp, the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC, and the Bibliothèque Mazarine in Paris.
Additionally, he held a postdoctoral position in a project on layout (FWO-Flanders) and in a project on the economic dimension of the early modern book (ERC, Universities of Udine and Milan).
