ugo Puttaert (°1960) is a graphic designer, curator, and educator. He studied Fine Arts at the Sint-Lukas Institute in Brussels and art education at Sint-Lucas Ghent (now LUCA School of Arts). In 1990, he founded the graphic design studio visionandfactory.

In 2014, MER Paper Kunsthalle published the book Think in Colour about his studio, written by Steven Cleeren and introduced by Rick Poynor. From 2007 to 2019, Hugo Puttaert organized the Integrated conferences (deSingel, Antwerp), curated exhibitions, published Addmagazine, and gave numerous lectures and workshops. He is also the co-author of several books on graphic design.

Currently, as an educator, he focuses on a hybrid teaching environment where critical thinking and design are inextricably linked. His new book, Geometrically Speaking, was published by Not Yet. Publishers.
